"The first time I heard this track I was moved to a state of trance, I couldn’t quite believe what I was hearing. With the basis of three notes and the full original being an hour long, The William Basinski Disintegration Loops 1.1 is one of the most inspiring pieces of music for me. It alters my mood every time I begin to listen making it something special and unique. I felt uncomfortable at first to try anything with the track and now over a year I’ve finally decided to let it play. This is not an edit, this is a tribute." Sei A.
We’ve got a few things bubbling up at Seinan. I’m kind of excited about the next few months for the label.
Whilst we’re sorting that stuff out here’s a wee mix from the young upstart Beacon. It ranges from some new bangers through to classic Roll Deep and of course his own work. It’s classic Friday material. You can downlood it by clicking the downwards pointing arrow on the top right.
The Guardian are offering a full stream of Rustie’s Glass Swords album. It’s out this month on Warp.
A lot has been written about this in various places. It’s a hyperactive, all over the shop record but for me one that is still focussed in the right places. I really like it!
The Guardian is a weird choice to offer this to the public but I can see the logic, it’s outside the usual sources and both parties have something to gain. Warp break out the the mould a little and the Guardian obviously get some cool kudos.
